Our client company, a world leader in the automotive manufacturing industry, is currently interviewing for a Quality Engineer. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for the following:
  • Coordinating with team to develop sampling and inspection practices/ techniques for product manufacturing, procurement and receiving to achieve desired quality standards.
  • Coordinating quality assurance activities with production and other functions to support delivery schedules.
  • Conducting and managing Product/Process Audits.
  • Developing or improving inspection methods to reduce measurement variation or to increase inspection efficiency.
  • Instructing and assisting team members as to the interpretation of blueprints, job procedures, specifications, absenteeism, workmanship, safety, housekeeping and 5S requirements.
  • Participates in disposition of nonconforming product.
  • Participates in process improvement efforts such as 5’S, effective corrective actions for repetitive quality issues, PQI initiatives, line damage audits, scrap reduction teams, defects per unit (DPU) reduction, Kaizen events, and outsourcing opportunities.
  • Coordinates corrective action activity and validates effectiveness.
  • Leads continuous improvement process and suggestion program activities.
  • Assists with developing and conducting quality training programs, prepares and maintains necessary records and reports.
  • Completes and analyzes data and identifies trends and facilitates improvement actions. Interacts with team members to implement solutions.
  • Creates and maintains metrics for quality reporting.
Job Skills & Requirements:
  • BS degree required, Engineering focus preferred
  • At least 3 years of quality engineering experience; preferably in a team environment. Must possess exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to function as a team leader or member
  • Excellent technical, verbal, and written skills
  • Proven ability to work in a self-directed environment
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt training, certification preferred
  • Geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T) experience preferred
