Our client company is currently hiring a Quality Engineer for their plant in the Louisville, KY area. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for:
  • PPAP (Production Part Approval Process); conduct dimensional inspection of PPAP sample components using portable CMM (Faro arm) or other measuring devices
  • Mechanical inspections of parts and documentation of manufacturing and testing procedures including first article inspection, EV (Engineering Validation) or QV (Quality Validation) builds
  • Evaluation of testing results and supporting documentation of PPAP samples to determine conformance to PPAP requirements
  • Creation and maintenance of PPAP files and documentation in support PPAP guidelines
  • Identify and facilitate improvement initiatives utilizing customer/internal feedback to help identify opportunities to resolve quality/production issues
  • Request BOM (Bill of Material), SRDC (Drawing Changes), and part number modifications
  • Provide analytical support to process owners regarding product / process quality issues
  • Participate in developing and executing Quality department goals and objectives
  • Lead Statistical Process Control Implementation on new and existing product
  • Provide fixture validation quality audits as required
  • Assist in the development, review and implementation of Process Control Plans to support plant initiatives
  • Conduct capability studies and publish statistical reports 
Job Skills & Requirements:
  • BS Degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • Experience with ISO 9000/9001/14000/14001, TS16949, or QS 9000 QMS's in a related capacity
  • Excellent communication skills, along with proactive thought
  • Understanding of APQP and other Quality Management tools (FMEA, CP, PF, SWI)
  • Experience with GD&T and measuring equipment including portable CMM, and the ability to use a wide variety of inspection equipment
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications including National/International standards and translate into part and process requirements
  • Minimum of three (3) years automotive OEM or Tier One experience
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate team efforts and work under minimal supervision
  • Must possess PC based computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products, familiarity with Minitab or equivalent
