Our client company, a Fortune 500 company, is currently interviewing candidates for a Manufacturing Engineer Assembly. The Manufacturing Engineer Assembly will be responsible for the application, evaluation, development, project management, commissioning, and system management of manufacturing industrial automation and control systems. The ideal candidate is experienced in Lean Manufacturing and is proactive in taking action for quality improvement. Additional job responsibilities include:
  • Provide technical support for existing product lines.
  • Improve productivity of and reduce the floor space required by existing product lines.
  • Perform feasibility studies and provide tooling, space and labor estimates for new business opportunities.
  • Design and establish assembly methods for new work cells procure and setup tooling and equipment for these new work cells to meet safety, quality and productivity goals.
  • Support the APQP process through development of PFMEAs and product work flows.
  • Support the plant quality process through mistake proofing new and existing business production operations.
  • Identify, justify and implement capital equipment projects.
  • Actively participate in Six Sigma projects as a belt and team member.
  • Designs and implements shop aids and fixtures.
  • Maintains control documents per ISO requirements.
  • Reviews engineering designs for manufacturing feasibility and recommends changes, as necessary.
Job Skills & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably Industrial or Mechanical.
  • MBA or Masters in Engineering is a plus
  • At least 4 years of manufacturing experience, preferably automotive related 
  • Applicant should have excellent PC skills; including Word, Excel and Access, AutoCAD. ProEngineer Software experience would be a plus.
  • Qualified applicants will be detailed oriented, well organized and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fact-based decision making is a requirement for success
  • Understanding of Six Sigma practices
  • ERP experience, preferably in SAP.
  • Applicants must be able to multi-task, prioritize, successfully handle pressure, and work/make decisions independently when required.
  • Must have the flexibility to work 2nd shift and weekends when needed
