Our client company, a growing manufacturing company in the Myrtle Beach area, is currently seeking a CNC Machinist to join their team. The CNC Machinist will be responsible for machining set-ups and CNC programming. Additional responsibilities include:
  • Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, cad data, materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters.
  • Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
  • Sets-up mills and other equipment by installing and adjusting chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices and parts.
  • Ability to be innovative in machining of parts while maintaining accuracies and finish specifications and able to justify improvements with verifiable repeatable data.
  • Utilizes Cam system to program machining of parts to blueprint specification.
  • Maintains specifications by observing, troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Use and maintain a variety of precision measuring devices / ability to inspect parts for errors.
  • Time management skills to plan and allowance to run multiple machines.
  • Maintains continuity by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Fosters teamwork within the department. Develops and maintains cooperative interdepartmental relationships.
  • Capability to train and advise trainees, apprentices and other toolmakers.
  • Formulate employee and/or management suggestions into workable tooling where possible
  • Uses appropriate safety equipment, as required and/or provided
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned.
 
Job Skills & Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of experience with CNC machining and programming
  • Experience programming CAD/CAM
  • Knowledge of CNC mills, lathes, turns & tooling
  • Must have desire to learn and accomplish goals
  • Technical schooling and/or certifications a plus
